Robin Van Persie has received some criticism since the beginning of the season and perhaps this is why the Daily Star are linking him with a shock move to Turkey? The 31-year-old has some decisions to make about whether a switch away from Old Trafford is right for his career.

Robin Van Persie began his professional career with Dutch club Feyenoord and between 2001-2004 he played 61 Eredivisie games for the side, scoring 16 goals. In May 2004 Arsenal agreed a bargain £2.75m deal to bring him to London and he quickly became a Gunners favourite, playing 26 Premier League matches in his debut season.

Goals weren’t initially forthcoming for the striker as a number of injuries seemed to hit him on regular occasions. However for the bargain fee Arsenal received 8 seasons out of him and 96 Premier League goals in 194 appearances. His last season at the Emirates Stadium was his most prolific as he played every league fixture and scored an impressive 30 goals. Upon announcing he would not sign a new Arsenal deal Manchester United secured his signature for £24m.

His first season at Old Trafford was very prolific with 26 strikes coming from 38 Premier League clashes. In 2013/14 injuries would come back to haunt Van Persie and this would harm his campaign, a struggle that has continued this time out too. Fenerbahce are the club in question and they have apparently spoken with Manchester United representatives but Louis Van Gaal is hoping to keep hold of his 94 capped Netherlands international.
